hello!

this is a weekly feature of amazing literature that i come by during my
travels across deviantart. this is only a small sample of a vast amount
of wonderful pieces of literature written by absolutely fantastic
writers. each deviation was carefully selected from a writer's gallery
based on structure, impact and word usage. i try (try!) to feature
deviants who get less spotlight than others and i will never feature the
same person twice.

these are truly some spectacular works and i urge to you take a look! i only pick the best, you know! (;
please take the time to read through each one - seriously, it takes five minutes - and be sure to :+fav: the journal! (:

society is warped like a two-by-fouri used to hide behind pages, hide in between the three-punch holes and the
too-straight blue lines on looseleaf
paper because that's where i thought i belonged: among the blankness
of ideas i felt but didn't hear, touched but didn't see – oh, they
touched me, they brushed against my eyelashes like
dandelion seeds tumbling through the ether, and the
wind ripped them from their stems and flung them
into the world and then they finally
realized: this is who i am supposed to be, no, this is who i am and nothing
can change that, not even when i find myself pummeled by tsunami
waves that crush houses like we crumple all the wrong words into little balls with our
little fingers, our little fingers that
curl into fists and punch glass windows until the panes have
shattered into a million pieces like the pieces of our hearts and we're left
breathless and bleeding and oh-so-sorry that the
world can't leap out of its orbit and tango with the black hole in
the middle of the milky way b
Old Loves and Sanity in a Lonely ChairLithographs of you
waxing lyrical on the bookshelf
between love letters and lithium
and the taste of your breath.
April euphoria
wearing down like the sole of well-
worn shoes
I wait at the door
half in and half out
with so much to lose

chattering of summers past

Am I A Poet Yet?My hair stains the sheets in a tangle.
My body lies quiet, an afterthought,
Under stanzas of love marks and sweat;
You are leaving tomorrow, I love you, and wonder:
Am I a poet yet?
My fingers search through your hair,
Trace up the curve of an ear,
Caress a full, swollen petal of a lip,
Trying to find you under the beauty, the covers;
You are leaving tomorrow, I love you, and wonder:
Am I a poet yet?
Soon I'll stare out at the sky and the sea,
And it will only be me, the gulls, and what used to be.
You'll meet different eyes, with a lovelier slant,
Our passion will be a stranger from a foreign land.
You say you'll be back, and I smile and wave,
As if I believed the promises you gave.
Then I'll turn from you quietly, roll over sigh,
A question after this goodbye:
He loved me, he left me,
The story's the same as every other ever wrote,
All I've left is memories, a pen, and a note,
And a question to ask of a page and a thought:
He loved me, he left me on the wind that brought him here.

UPDATES ON THINGS

i have created a favorites folder entitled "Fantastic Feature Tuesday" where you can find every deviation i have ever featured! yippee! and other things too:

1. feature is shorter this week because i am very busy and it takes a while to find the right pieces. also, i realized quite a few of them already have DLDs and it makes me feel unoriginal, heh
2. worried about nanowrimo. i don't think i'll be able to finish, not when i need to focus on school since i'll be applying to university in january (!!!!!!!!!). so i'm trying to think of a compromise but i'm not sure. maybe only 750 words a day (for a total of 22500 words.. ugh, lame) or to write for one hour every day (though i have no idea how many words that might amount to - still, i don't think i should be sacrificing any more homework time than that). and, in order to not be hypocritical about this, i am going to seriously cut down on all my procrastinations and stuff. because if i have time to read and watch tv, i have time to write.
3. doing well in everything except electricity&magnetism. i don't even care about that class because i'm going to apply to a bio-related program and don't need physics but it's really bringing my average down and if i fail the course i will have to take it again (and be severely embarrassed)
4. ummm yeah that's it. oh, i'm going to florida around christmas-time for a week to visit my grandparents who go up there every year for four months. and to soak in the sun, of course. that should be a nice way to relax after a very stressful semester..

thanks for reading!
