Fantastic Feature Tueday #37

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 3, 2013, 7:54 AM
Facebook l Myspace l Gallery l dA Portfolio l Watch Me l Note Me

This is a weekly feature of amazing literature that I come by during my
travels across deviantART. This is only a small sample of a vast amount
of wonderful pieces of literature written by absolutely fantastic
writers. Each deviation was carefully selected from a writer's gallery
based on structure, impact and word usage. I will never feature the
same person twice, so check out these lovely writers now while you can!

Please :+fav: this news article so it will reach a larger audience!

Valentine VinaigretteI leave a tinge of regret on everything I touch
Mixed with a dizzying vinaigrette of sorrow,
A touch of everlasting love.
The bittersweet mixture is evident on my pillowcase.
It's not altogether unpleasant.
Coffee tastes like chocolate,
Chocolate tastes like wine,
Wine tastes like you;
A drink so volatile it should never be safe for consumption.
But I regress. And indulge in the flavor.
When you walked out of my life,
You left me a present. Dark chocolate.
I take one every day. The taste carries so much pain
But I regress. And indulge in the flavor.
It's not bittersweet. It's more reminiscent of strong coffee:
A flavor that's sharp, but carries so much warmth inside. And keeps me awake at night.
Freedomsurrendering to the summer skies,
she finds solace with the butterflies –
spreading her arms out like wings,
she dances on the clouds and sings.

maybe we'll
go to
brazil
together and
be inspired to
do great things.
for each other and
for ourselves.
i'll have all these
prophetic
ideas swirling around
and i'll write them
down in notebooks.
you'll paint me
writing
naked on the
crumpled bed sheets.
we'll go to
cold places, too,
because i'm curious
about minnesota.
i'd like to see

christmas.
maybe there will
be a reason to
get married.
we'll be walking
past a store and
i'll think that
one of the rings
is really beautiful
and you'll see
the look on my face
and know that
you want to
tie yourself
around my bones
for ever.
we'll be
in new york and
want to get married
and there will be
horses pulling
buggies all around us.
snow will fall when
you ask me.
i will have expected
it a little, but be
entirely surprised.
i am always looking
for a
transformation.

Piano PlayingI am a pianist
And you are my piano, dear.
I play minuets along your ribcage,
Write love songs on your arms,
And press your vertebrae like keys
To let soft chords fill the empty space.
Your hairs are the resounding strings,
Your lips are polished brass pedals
That make everything loud and soft at the same time.
Kissing you makes the whole world shift up an octave.
I am a pianist
And you are my piano, dear
So let's write a duet in the dark.
loose pagesthe spine to our
romance novel was not strong
enough to bind the pages
of our love story anymore
and no matter how frantic i try
to stack, staple and clip
the pages they just keep flowing
like the cascades of waterfalls
on my cheeks that makes puddles
in my shoes

strange choking sound you make
when i make you cry
Threnody of a Tortured Soul
I.
He loved her in what ever distant way he could.
In the way a prisoner loves the idea of flowers growing outside of concrete walls.
Something untouchable; only real inside the mind.
She existed to him as a glowing orb of light.
A powerful, yet elegant distraction from himself..
And he clung to her as a fearful child clings to its mother.
For protection.
For approval.
To at last feel those pivotal emotions he was never permitted to develop.
He was twenty-five when she first met him.
He was lost, shattered, and self-destructive..
Yet he possessed the most delicate skin she had ever seen on a man.
Thin and milky white, as he had gone so painfully long without seeing the sun.
His eyes were searching, wide, and limitless.
Constantly betraying the unpredictability he was known and feared for.
Yet to his unwavering bewilderment, she never feared him.
Never greeted him with disdain or disgust no matter what he’d done.
She only cared for him as well as she could.
With soft hands, and an

dwindling by Barnaby MarrowI caught my reflection by her
silk spun lips; She was
as beautiful as the slender
moon. She doesn't say
hello too often but this
time she lingered quite a bit longer
than usual - so it sounded by the
ticks on the old grandfather
clock down the hall.
What a delicate heart she holds.
How heavy it must be to carry - I
could see the weight in her
rain cloud eyes. She has never looked
so sweet, to me, even with those
hollow bruises underneath. Terse
or not, I found my marrow. And while
I could not keep hold for long; it was
something that had been lost for such
a long time. It is still there, I see -
I have seen. How
hastily I fell for her disastrous nature.
She's so afraid, you can tell, but her
baby cheeks hide these dimples that
hold every ounce of her innocence.
So swollen and youthful, I dare not
touch the dream that is her velvet
skin, for I may break the most
fragile thing to ever be
kissed by the northern lights.

i am spineless. a silent symphony of agony on ribcaged ivored orchids. (hear the greensleeves of) gathering birches, songbirds sodden with periwinkled love forgetting the many ways to say i love you (too) on these waterlogged nights soused in elephant rain;

such efflorescence: honey trees freckled  in dandelion leaves bring tenderness to numb lips as i dance beneath pastel diamond skies as he'll put so many gingered lillies in isabelle white all to make me smile. so i'll never let these "love yous" slip through the emptying cracks into me

Witch OilThere's magma boiling in her frostbitten veins;
incandescent pixie dust and

sluggishly making its way through
a childish heart — wishing for one last chance
to spread her wings and soar to

PS. I'm accepting point donations on my page for NaPoWriMo! At the end of the month, all those who completed their 30 poems will receive an equal number of points from me, and since I have no idea how many people that will be (and it would be nice to give at least 20) I beg you for donations! Help me, I'm poor! (Not actually, but I'm a student starting uni in the fall and well there goes all my savings) You can also contribute features and llamas :)
PPS. I keep thinking that I'm going to run out of writers to feature - I've already featured over 400 so far (!!!) - but somehow I just keep finding more. It's magical. You guys are just popping out of nowhere like you came out of a wormhole or something.

Thank-you so much for the feature, it truly means a lot to me that you took the time to do this - I really appreciate your support

I have school quite soon, and won't be home until much later, so I'm going to have a look at the other lovely pieces tonight when I return from the absolutely horrendous place I spend way to much of my time at ;) All of the works here look amazing, everyone featured should be so proud of themselves. Congratulations :D

Thanks again!

It was absolutely my pleasure

Take your time! Most people don't really read them so knowing you're going to eventually read them is wonderful :) I hope they are proud, they definitely deserve to be.
